We are so excited that you are checking out our website and blog. We hope that you enjoy following our family and our journey as we head into the mission field. In July our little family of four will be deployed to Medellin, Colombia. We are so very excited to reconnect with friends from the past and build relationships with new people.
Here is a little about us!
Rev. Patrick Wilkerson is an ordained minister in the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Patrick has been working in the ministry for 11 years. Over his years in the ministry his love and passion grew in three main areas; being a pastor, youth and young adult ministry, and missions.
Jessica Wilkerson is a social worker. After completing her Masters Degree she has worked in several areas of social work. She has worked in a behavioral school, worked as a crisis counselor, worked as a transitional living counselor, and as a therapist.
Patrick and Jessica have a toddler that is full of energy and her name is Bella Grace. She keeps them on their toes and full of laughs. They also have a 9 month old daughter named Jacqueline. She has a smile that brightens the room and is constantly on the move as a new crawler. That’s right, they are taking two children under the age of 4 on this adventure with them. They know that their children will be blessed in many ways from living in multiple cultures and learning two languages.
The Wilkerson’s plan to leave for Colombia in a few months. Once they are there they will help in the leadership in the Emmaus Presbytery, which was formed in February of 2017. They will work within the Presbytery in many ways such as; being a pastor for the pastors and leaders of the presbytery, mentoring seminary students, helping establish youth programs in the churches, training youth leaders, helping with camping programs, helping with mission teams that visit Colombia, helping with existing and new social action programs, and helping with the expansion of the Presbytery and formation of new churches.
This is such an exciting time for our Family. I hope you join us in our journey into the mission field!
